NorthLakes Community Clinic Receives Funding for Employee Emotional Support Line
Turtle Lake, Wisconsin—NorthLakes Community Clinic was awarded $1000 from the St. Croix Valley Foundation, United Way St. Croix Valley and United Way Washington County East’s COVID-19 Response Fund for the St. Croix Valley. This fund is in response to the basic needs of those most significantly impacted by this pandemic crisis. The grant will help fund NorthLakes’ Employee Emotional Support Line (EESL).
The EESL ensures NorthLakes’ staff on the front lines is fully present for their patients, whom may be experiencing medical concerns with COVID-19 related symptoms, anxiety and depression due to quarantine, financial strain and those patients whose other needs are set aside due to their inability to access needed care. Many of these health care workers are worried about their safety and that of their families, yet they are inspired to keep serving patients.
The Employee Emotional Support Line responds to an employee’s request for much needed emotional support. The therapists will be giving encouragement, some suggestions for coping, or just a listening ear. The five to twenty minute calls are completely confidential and free to any employee in need. This is an impermanent service available only during this pandemic
NorthLakes as a Community Health Center is the backbone of the region’s health care safety-net, and continues to respond to the ongoing needs of communities throughout Northern Wisconsin, even during this pandemic. At this time, all of the clinics are open and providing essential services, along with offering a number of services virtually.
