Hurley, WI – NorthLakes Community Clinic is now offering medical services at their clinic in Hurley. This complements the other services currently being offered: Chiropractic, Dental, Behavioral Health and Health and Wellness supports. This has been a goal for some time.
“Offering medical services was actually not part of our original plan for Hurley”, said Reba Rice, NorthLakes Chief Executive Officer. “But our community stakeholders were clear from the early on that there has been a need for easier access to medical care. So we are very happy to be able to provide that to the people in and around Iron and Gogebic counties”.
One of our newest medical team members, Dr. Nathan Schoeppach, who has been providing medical care in the Chequamegon Bay area for over a decade; and Family Nurse Practitioner Becca Fleming, who lives near Hurley and has been with NorthLakes in Iron River and Ashland for over 3 years; will be providing services. In addition to offering primary medical services for people of all ages, the team will also offer DOT physicals and OB services. This expansion builds on NorthLakes’ investment in Hurley which has included moving into a larger building in 2020 to accommodate additional services.
Also new to the Hurley Clinic is our Farm to Patient program which connects patients with fresh fruits and vegetables produced by local farmers. Patients who fit the criteria are prescribed a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) box filled with seasonal farm products in the hopes that the food will help improve a patient’s overall health, help them lose weight, manage a health condition or achieve a personal health related goal.
