What to Donate
The Northwoods Homeless Shelter regularly needs:
- Personal care items
- Shower supplies
- Feminine hygiene products
- Cleaning supplies
- Laundry products
- Paper goods
- Financial donations
Every donation helps provide essential resources to people who are experiencing homelessness in Polk County and the surrounding region.
“Events like this are a simple way for neighbors to come together and support organizations doing important work in our community,” said Nikki Liedl, clinic manager at the Turtle Lake clinic. “The Northwoods Homeless Shelter does so much for our unhoused, and we’re excited to help bring attention and support to their efforts while giving people a chance to connect with each other.”Â
Supporting Our Neighbors
The Northwoods Homeless Shelter operates two facilities: an emergency shelter that offers a 90-day stay for families and individuals, and transitional housing for residents facing long-term challenges that contribute to homelessness.
Community support plays an important role in helping the shelter provide essential supplies and services.
“We depend on the community’s generosity to provide hygiene products, cleaning supplies, paper goods, and financial assistance for our shelter in Polk County and the surrounding region,” said Ginny Ormsby, administrative director of the Northwoods Homeless Shelter.
Ormsby added, “Collaborating with NorthLakes for this event raises awareness and supplies that directly benefit our clients in their time of need.”
Bring a donation, meet your neighbors, and help support the Northwoods Homeless Shelter. We hope to see you there!
