Professional Interests:
The area where I have the most experience is working alongside adults with substance use disorder. Other interests include working with the elderly and aging and transitions in life that come with it. I would say my approach to therapy is integrated, meaning I use different parts of many theories to best help the client in front of me and meet their needs. I believe it is important to learn about a client's strengths and motivations in order to help them in meeting their goals, whatever those may be.
Personal Interests:
Fishing, hiking and just being in the woods, gardening, and time with my pets.
Patient advice:
Making changes is hard. If you have recognized something in your life you'd like to work on and are willing to ask for help, you've already made great progress. Therapy can be provide guidance, support and reflection throughout your journey. Be patient with yourself and the process, and never stop trying.
