Prior to coming to the first visit, I would say it's nice if people kind of think about what they wanted to get out of therapy. Now, we'll set formal goals and we'll talk about those things or assess it even if they have no idea what they really want, they just know they need to be there. But it's helpful if they start thinking about kind of what's missing in life and what are they hoping to gain and that gives a good launching point to start from.
