NorthLakes is excited to welcome Dr. Marissa Spatz, OD, as the new optometrist at our Oconto clinic. With Dr. Spatz’s arrival, residents throughout the region now have convenient access to complete vision care close to home. The NorthLakes Community Clinic now offers comprehensive eye exams, prescription glasses, contact lens fittings, and ongoing vision care—eliminating the need for patients to travel outside the area for quality optometry services.
Marissa provides vision care to individuals ages five and up, with a focus on patient-centered service. The addition of full-service optometry represents NorthLakes Community Clinic’s continued commitment to meeting the evolving healthcare needs of the communities it serves.
Marissa earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry and holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. Her clinical training includes serving both veteran and underserved populations, where she managed a wide range of vision needs, from routine care to complex diagnoses.
“My approach to care is conservative and straightforward,” she shares. “I make space for patients to be active in their own health decisions by making sure they feel informed and supported.”
Hannah Schad, clinic manager at the Oconto location, expressed enthusiasm about the new service addition. “We’re thrilled to offer optometry services at our newly opened Oconto facility,” said Schad. “Adding vision care, including on-site glasses, allows us to provide even more complete healthcare to our community. It’s exciting to see how quickly we’re able to expand our services to meet the needs of the families we serve in our brand-new location.”
Marissa is passionate about accessibility in healthcare and encourages patients to come prepared with questions, current medications, and relevant health history to make the most of their visit. She believes that when patients feel heard and informed, they’re more empowered to make decisions that positively impact their well-being.
