Three experienced healthcare providers have joined the service team at NorthLakes Community Clinic’s new Augusta Clinic location. Behavioral Health Therapist Amanda Putnam, Family Nurse Practitioner Tina Opelt, and Family Physician Dr. Mark D. Gideonsen are now available to the Augusta community, each contributing extensive knowledge, expertise and vital health services to NorthLakes patients.
Following renovations, NorthLakes opened its Augusta Clinic doors earlier this month – at 207 W. Lincoln Street – to provide Behavioral Health and Medical Services.
Behavioral Health Services promote healing, problem-solving, and personal growth.
Meet with Amanda Putnam, LPC, for excellent care in a confidential atmosphere. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in flexibility, tailoring her care to meet individual needs. She says, “The most important piece to our care is building a trusting relationship and working together to get you to where you want to be.”
Putnam is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and the Four Blinks Version of FLASH, which she brings to clients of all ages – particularly neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ populations. And to further support local families, Putnam will also provide School-Based Behavioral Health services in Augusta schools. Call (715) 286-6701 for more information to see if this may be a good fit for your child.
Medical Services at NorthLakes take an integrative approach to healthcare, with a focus on prevention and long-term chronic disease management for the entire family.
Family Nurse Practitioner Tina Opelt is dedicated to serving patients across the lifespan, from newborns to older adults. As well as holding a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois – Chicago, Opelt has been honored with the WEAU “Sunshine Award” twice, reflecting a commitment to exceptional patient care. Opelt’s approach emphasizes shared decision-making and working closely with patients to guide their health journeys, all while respecting their individual goals.
“I am on your team, but you are the captain,” Opelt says, encouraging patients to bring their questions and concerns to appointments.
Long-time local provider Dr. Mark Gideonsen has been serving the Augusta community for years and continues his work at NorthLakes Community Clinic in both Augusta and Eau Claire. While he brings a wealth of experience as a Family Physician in women’s health and pediatrics, Dr. Gideonsen is dedicated to providing comprehensive care to all patients. He has also been awarded the “Sunshine Award” twice – a testament to his outstanding patient care.
“I try to focus on what else might be affecting your health and wellness… and how I might help you thrive as a person,” Gideonsen says.
NorthLakes exists because everyone deserves access to primary care; and the opening of NorthLakes Community Clinic in Augusta marks a significant milestone for the organization. Located in the Unity Bank building, the new clinic will help fill the healthcare gap left by the recent closure of local services, offering Behavioral Health, Medical, and Patient Support Services to the community.
Augusta Clinic is now accepting new patients. A Sliding Fee Scale is offered to those who qualify. For more information on services or to schedule an appointment, call (715) 286-6701.
