Krystal Hughes, LPC-IT, joins the team at NorthLakes Community Clinic in Marinette to support local youth and families. In providing care as a Behavioral Health Therapist, Hughes will play a vital role in the School-Based Behavioral Health program, delivering mental health support to students across Marinette County School District. She will also offer Behavioral Health Services for patients ages 4+ at the Marinette Clinic location.
Hughes, who earned a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Capella University, brings an integrative approach. She enjoys working with individuals from all backgrounds, tailoring her methods to meet the unique needs of each patient. “This is a safe space to talk about anything you’re feeling…without judgment,” she tells her patients. “I know it can be scary, but coming in is the first step. We can work together to help you find wellness.”
In addition to her professional expertise, her warm personality and dedication to fostering trust make Hughes an excellent resource for children, adolescents, and families navigating behavioral challenges.
“We are thrilled to welcome Krystal Hughes to the NorthLakes team,” said Charlotte VanderVenter, director of regional operations at NorthLakes Community Clinic — Marinette. “Her holistic, compassionate approach to care fits our mission of removing barriers and increasing access to health services in Marinette County.”
This role filled by Krystal Hughes has been made possible in part thanks to a generous $25,000 grant from the Provident Health Foundation of Marinette/Menominee. The funding supports NorthLakes’ efforts to bring school-based therapy services to students – right where they are – as well as expand access to vital counseling services in rural communities.
A key focus of this work is the NorthLakes’ School-Based Behavioral Health Program, which partners with schools to provide tools and resources needed to build emotional resilience, achieve academic success, and foster long-term well-being. This initiative addresses a critical need in Marinette County, where access to mental health services is often limited by geographic and economic barriers.
Along with Behavioral Health Services, NorthLakes Community Clinic offers Chiropractic Care and Dental Care at its Marinette location.
