Sarah is interested in reducing stigma! We all have trauma, whether it's "small t trauma" or "big T trauma," and Sarah is an advocate for trauma recovery. She is also interested in recovery from abusive relationships—including emotional abuse and gaslighting. Sarah is an advocate for harm reduction in all forms, including all paths of recovery and wellness. Suicide prevention and self-harm reduction are also close to Sarah's heart. Building trust and fostering connection are foundational to Sarah's work with peers.
Sarah is interested in fine art, especially painting and drawing, and any creative endeavor. She loves spending time on the shores of Lake Superior and in the beautiful forests in her area. Sarah also loves spending time with any animals, but especially her beloved Doberman Pinscher and her small flock of hens. Sarah also loves gardening—growing and preserving organic produce, and growing native wildflowers.
I congratulate you for being brave enough to come this far! For me, choosing the path to healing, sobriety and wellness was one of the most absolutely terrifying things I have ever done. Please remember when you are bravely considering seeing a Peer Specialist—I know this takes a lot of courage and I commend you for taking steps toward you well-being! You can expect to be treated with respect and gentleness.
