Two new behavioral health therapists joined the Ashland and Iron River teams. (right) Breana Cooper, APSW, and (left) Amisha Hamann, LPC-IT, are now seeing clients at the Ashland clinic, with Breana also providing care in Iron River. Together, they bring diverse experience, specialized training, and a shared commitment to person-centered, trauma-informed care.
Breana Cooper, APSW, holds a Master of Social Work from Tulane University and is trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). As a military veteran with nearly two decades in medical and mental health roles, Breana offers a unique perspective on service, resilience, and healing. She works with individuals ages eight and up on concerns such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction, grief, life transitions, and self-identity.
“My advice to anyone starting therapy is to come as you are,” says Breana. “You’re already doing the hardest part by showing up. We’ll work together in a safe, supportive space at a pace that feels right for you.”
Amisha Hamann, LPC-IT, recently completed her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Walden University. She blends person-centered and psychodynamic approaches with training in TF-CBT and moral reconation therapy (MRT), helping individuals and couples ages ten and up navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance use disorders.
“It takes courage to make the call for therapy,” Amisha says. “I meet people where they are and walk alongside them at a pace that feels safe. My priority is to create a warm, judgment-free environment where healing can begin.”
Outside the office, Breana enjoys time near the ocean, traveling, attending sports events, and staying active with her family. Amisha finds joy in reading, cooking, movies and, exploring the north woods with loved ones.
