Katie Mazur, LPC-IT, has joined the Iron River Clinic as a behavioral health therapist, bringing valuable experience and a caring approach to addressing the mental health needs of individuals in the community.
Katie earned her master’s degree in counseling and bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin–Superior. She works with adults, teens, college students, and couples using different helpful methods, including talk therapy, CBT, motivational interviewing, and person-centered care.
“My approach to care starts with no judgments, no expectations – just come as you are,” says Katie. “I have a direct, yet caring approach to care. We will work together on finding strengths and coping skills to use to get through tough times.”
Katie helps clients with many concerns, including stress, worry, sadness from loss, big life changes, feeling better about themselves, handling emotions, parenting issues, and behavior problems. She also teaches mindfulness skills to help people feel calmer.
“I want to walk alongside my clients, support my clients, and guide my clients along their mental health journey,” Katie explains. Her advice to patients is simple: “Be present. Be real. Be open. Focus on today, follow your values, and welcome change. It’s okay not to be okay.”
Katie is now accepting new patients at the Iron River Clinic. To schedule an appointment, please call NorthLakes Community Clinic (888) 834-4551.
