NorthLakes Community Clinic has welcomed Dr. Matthew Gurney, DMD, to its dental team in Eau Claire. Matthew brings nearly a decade of experience providing comprehensive dental care in federally qualified health centers and correctional settings, along with a strong commitment to improving access to care for underserved populations.
Matthew earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and a certificate of public health with a dental emphasis from the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Utah. Throughout his career, Matthew has dedicated himself to advancing public health and ensuring patients of all backgrounds receive quality, compassionate care.
Previously, Matthew practiced at Marshfield Clinic’s Family Health Center in Medford and most recently provided dental services through Northeast Missouri Health Council and YesCare/NaphCare. He has also been deeply involved in community outreach, offering dental screenings, education and care at events such as Give Kids a Smile, local parades, veteran expos, and health fairs.
“I believe in providing compassionate, honest, quality care where people are heard and respected,” Matthew said. “I care for others as if they were my own family. My advice to patients is to make oral health a priority now, because it pays off in the long run. Brush and floss every day.”
Outside of dentistry, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons, exploring the outdoors, reading, and participating in church and community activities. He is fluent in Spanish and looks forward to building connections with patients in the Eau Claire area.
