BadgerCare Plus is a healthcare coverage program for low-income Wisconsin residents.
- Anyone can apply at any time.
- BadgerCare Plus needs to be renewed each year, a reminder is sent through the mail 45 days prior to the deadline.
- BadgerCare Plus covers prescriptions, hospital care, doctor visits, emergency visits, vision care and glasses, substance abuse treatment, maternity, newborn care, and more.

The Marketplace
The Marketplace is an online exchange of insurance plans that are run by private companies.
Enrollment for the Marketplace has been extended until August 15, 2021.
- US citizens and qualifying immigrants can sign up for the Marketplace.
- Marketplace insurance needs to be renewed annually during the enrollment period.
- Each plan has different premiums, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and scopes of coverage.
- Depending on your income you may be able to receive tax credits that will help you pay for some or all of your monthly premium.
- Depending on your income you may be able to qualify for cost-sharing discounts to lower out-of-pocket max for co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs.
