Hayward, Wisconsin – The community has just gained access to an experienced family physician with an extensive range of knowledge. Dr. Michaela Tong is now providing care for patients at NorthLakes Community Clinic – Hayward.
Dr. Tong holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Creighton University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Dartmouth College. Her experience also includes a Fellowship in Emergency Medicine from the University of Tennessee and a Family Practice Residency from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson.
Throughout her career, Dr. Tong has demonstrated a commitment to serving diverse populations, including veterans, Native Americans and rural communities. She strives to understand the distinctive circumstances of each patient, offering practical strategies to help them meet their unique healthcare goals. When asked about her approach to care, she said, “Patients come to me to get help. I do my best to create an achievable treatment plan because they are trusting me with their personal concerns and difficulties.”
Professionally, she is most interested in diabetes management, women’s health, gender-affirming care and medication-assisted treatment for substance abuse.
In her free time, Dr. Tong enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends, mountain biking and bird watching. She also possesses working knowledge of French and Korean.
