My name is Ellyn, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 5 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, severe and persistent mental health disorders, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD and ADHD, as well as children and adolescents. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. As a mental health therapist, Ellyn uses a client-centered approach. It is her goal to support, encourage, and help clients reach their potential by providing unconditional positive regard, open communication between client and therapist, and a positive relationship to help them navigate their therapeutic journey. My counseling style is welcoming, open, and interactive. I believe in treating every client with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, client-centered, humanistic, and solution focused. I will tailor our sessions and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you through the process.
Summertime is Ellyn's favorite season. Her hobbies revolve around summertime and include water. She enjoys swimming, boating, fishing, paddleboarding, and spending time at the lake.
Prior to coming to receive care with me, I would just tell the person, "honesty is the best policy." When you come to see me, I am pretty straightforward and I am there to help you in all aspects of your life. But what I like to tell people is, I can't help unless I know what I am helping with, so I really stress trusting the process, trusting me, and building that therapeutic relationship between the two of us is really where they're going to see the growth.
