NorthLakes Community Clinic’s doors opened at its Augusta location on October 14, 2024. This community-championed expansion follows months of renovations and preparations, which will bring much-needed Behavioral Health and Medical Services to the Augusta area.
The clinic - located at 207 W. Lincoln Street, on the second floor of the Unity Bank Building - opens as a direct response to the significant gap in primary care after the withdrawal of HSHS and Prevea from the region. To ensure continued access to essential healthcare services, NorthLakes will operate out of the former Prevea Clinic space, with a handful of services aimed at addressing the community’s biggest healthcare needs.
Long-time local provider Dr. Mark Gideonsen will continue to offer his expertise to patients, ensuring continuity of care. Family Nurse Practitioner Tina Opelt will join the team to help NorthLakes patients meet their health goals and medical needs. Additionally, the clinic has brought on a Behavioral Health Therapist, Amanda Putnam, to bolster mental health services in the area.
While patients faced a temporary gap in services following Prevea’s closure this past summer, NorthLakes is ready to fill that void.
“We are so grateful for the welcome we’ve received in Augusta,” says NorthLakes CEO, Reba Rice. “The city, the IDC, HSHS, Unity Bank and others have done so much to expedite the transition and support the quick turnaround to get the clinic back up and running. We’re honored to join such a vibrant community.”
The clinic is now accepting new patients for Behavioral Health and Medical Services. For more information about services or the Sliding Fee Scale, please visit nlccwi.org, or call (715) 286-6701 to schedule an appointment with NorthLakes.
