Developmental Care for Kids

NorthLakes has three kid-focused therapies to help children overcome challenges and build confidence.

Our team works with babies and kids up to age 18. We work with you as a family to make a treatment plan that helps your child reach personal goals and thrive.

We also have a lending closet for certain therapy equipment.

Kid focused therapies:

Not all locations offer all therapies.

Occupational Therapy

We help kids learn, improve, or recover skills they need for everyday life. Occupational therapy may help with things like:

  • Reaching growth & development goals
  • Fine motor skills, like holding a pencil
  • Eating, dressing, and other daily tasks
  • Managing feelings and emotions

Physical Therapy

We help kids get stronger, stay balanced, and move better. Physical therapy can increase confidence by helping with things like:

  • Balance and coordination
  • Weak muscles and pain
  • Crawling and walking delays
  • Teaching how to use mobility aids
  • Recovery after surgery

Speech Therapy

We help kids build communication skills and also work with drinking and eating problems. Speech therapy can help with things like:

  • Making speech sounds
  • Understanding and using language
  • Feeding and swallowing
  • Using speech-generating devices

We work with you to find ways to pay. We accept Medicaid/BadgerCare, Medicare, and most insurance. We can help you get insurance and apply for our Sliding Fee.

If you are having an emergency, call 9-1-1. To talk with a nurse, call your local clinic and choose option 2. For after-hours help, call (888) 834-4551.

Life can be complicated. We listen and may be able to help with things like rides to appointments, food, housing, family needs, and paying for care.
